Sit'n Pretty does not perform dematting procedures lasting longer than 15 minutes. Extensive or prolonged dematting can be painful and stressful for your pet.
For younger pets, dematting can create a negative grooming experience, potentially causing them to become fearful, aggressive, or resistant to grooming in the future. In severe cases, pets may require muzzling or sedation for future grooming appointments.
For senior pets, prolonged dematting can be particularly stressful and may pose health risks.
For these reasons, if your pet's coat cannot be safely and comfortably dematted within 15 minutes, we will recommend a shave-down to remove the matting and allow the coat to regrow healthy and mat-free.
